VEET Wax Strips

Time for an individual review of VEET Leg & Body Ready-to-Use Wax Strips. I received a full-size box of this products complimentary for testing purposes through Influenster. I was very excited about receiving this product because it sounded so cool and convenient. I was very impressed that Veet provided a full box! These strips are supposed to be specially formulated to remove hair from closer to the root than shaving on the legs, underarms, and bikini line. They should provide smoothness that lasts up to four weeks.

When I first tried the product, I was very anxious about pain. To my surprise, the experience was a lot less painful than I had thought. I think I was too hasty in my attempt to use the product, though, because something definitely went wrong for me. I have read such good reviews so I am kind of convinced it's just something I've done wrong. I warmed the strip up in my hands first as the directions entail, but when I tried the strips on all three suggested areas, I was left with nothing but a mess. It left red, puffy skin with a lot of sticky wax residue that was sooo difficult to clean off, even with the wipes they provide.

I have read that it helps to warm the strips in the microwave instead, but I haven't tried it myself yet. I saw little to no hair removal in my attempts. For me, shaving is so routine that it is hard to wait for hair to grow out enough to use these strips effectively, so that could have been an issue. I still have hope that these strips will come in handy, but so far it's been no deal. If you have had a better experience with them, please let me in on the secret.
